I subbed 1/2 cup of the flour with whole wheat to make them a little “healthier”. although they are quite healthy by most baking standards! They aren’t overly sweet which I love! and they are not quite like a muffin – more like a really simple differently textured cinnamon bun. Which I realized when I had to roll the dough out and I hadn’t added an egg to the batter (aka, not a batter!).
I think next time I will make my own cinnamon spread rather then the imperial stuff which I love on toast but there wasn’t enough of that awesome cinnamon flavour – or if I use the spread I’ll add more cinnamon to it.
It’s a win! 🙂
